Golf Courses and Tee Times
Augusta is known as home to the First Major Golf Tournament. While many can only dream of playing the Augusta National or attending the tournament, visitors can enjoy some of the region's finest golf courses. Augusta Tournament Concierge has partnerships with many of the area's finest and most sought after golf courses. Between watching the professionals, spend a day playing at some of the most well maintained courses in the area or reserve a morning tee time before heading the tournament. Below are some of the local courses; however, please contact us for a complete list of courses we can make arrangements at through our corporate memberships.
Champions Retreat
Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player came together and each set out to design nine signature holes of championship golf on a masterful course to be sculpted from the foundation of nearly twelve hundred acres of Georgia pines, long-standing hardwoods, and numerous wetlands along the great Savannah River, in a course to be known as Champions Retreat. The Bluff Course, designed by Nicklaus, accommodates up-and-downhill play on a course complemented by dramatic shifts in elevation. The Island Course, designed by Palmer, features greens nestled between the Savannah River on one side and the waters of the Little River on the other side. The Creek Course, designed by Player, offers challenges posed from playing amid the combination of marshes and native hardwoods. This unique design ensures that no golfer could ever get bored from playing here as they are continuously challenged by the courses.
Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club
Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club is 25 minutes north of the Augusta National. Mount Vintage is a golf course that blends some of nature's most beautiful handiwork with some of man's most creative applications for the sport of golf. Architect Tom Jackson recognized that Mother Nature gives this location a perfect setting for a golf course and the result is a championship layout that delivers the combination of being scenic, challenging, diverse, and fun to play.
Palmetto Golf Club
Palmetto Golf Club has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. It was also recognized by "GOLF Magazine" in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." The course originally opened in 1892, then was changed over from dirt greens by Alister McKenzie. The signature hole is #7, a 158-yard, par 3, considered as one of the 100 most difficult holes in America. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 20th "Best in State" course for 1995-96.
The River Golf Club
The River Golf Club is located in the perfect spot just over the Savannah River bridge in North Augusta, SC - tucked away, but close to all of the excitement. The course combines a fantastic layout with a spectacular setting to create a golfer's paradise. Designed by internationally acclaimed golf course architect Jim Fazio, The River Golf Club offers a unique setting, which includes large bent greens, numerous lakes, wetlands, and dramatic bunkers. Designed with golfers of all levels in mind, the course offers five sets of tees, a challenging but fair layout, and all the amenities to ensure a memorable golf experience. But beware - there have been alligators known to sun bathe along the banks of the wetlands!
West Lake Country Club
West Lake Country Club was opened for play in March of 1969 and designed by Ellis Maples of Pinehurst, North Carolina. West Lake Country Club was built on a 700 acre site with water coming into play on 7 of the 18 holes. Known for its impeccable playing conditions and TifEagle Bermuda greens that run 11.0-12.0 on the stimpmeter, West Lake will motivate and reward players of all skill levels with tee options ranging from 5,289 to 6,857 yards.
